Yes. You want a teacher who understands how the voice works and can explain that to you in terms you can understand. You can learn proper placement of the notes as you sing and how to transition from one area of your voice to another. When a problem arises a good Vocal Coach can tell you why and help you fix it. You will learn how to breathe and support your voice so you don’t strain or go off key (hit the note flat or sharp).
